Thank you for the excellent work you and your team did on our basement finishing project in 2008. We were especially impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship for the framing and drywall work on the basement walls as well as the bathroom and laundry room plumbing redesign. There were numerous challenges in this project including unusual plumbing lines and the need to create a bathroom where the lines were not roughed in yet. Additionally, a considerable portion of the basement walls were 10 feet tall! You did a great job in taking our original ideas, adding suggestions as well as expertise on what would be required to meet the building code inspections and what would enhance the overall look and feel of the finished rooms. You and your team were prompt in arriving and completing work timely according to the schedule. We certainly would hire you again if we had another project such as this in the future and would recommend you to friends and neighbors.

When I was pricing our custom bookshelf installation, Terry quickly stood out as the best value. He was competitively priced, met our schedule and it was clear from his picture book of completed jobs that he was the most qualified carpenter around. He delivered above our expectations, and when he came back a month later to take pictures and inspect his work – he insisted on making some minor adjustments to achieve perfection at no additional charge. We highly recommend Terry Cooper for your carpentry needs. Mr. Cooper’s work is excellent and his finished work is beautifully detailed. He explains his step-by-step process and provides professional advice in regards to the overall look of design, the choice of wood, the layout of the piece within the room. He is very knowledgeable and his detailed design undeniably matches his finished product. Mr. Cooper exceeded our expectations compared to other contractors/carpenters who we have worked with.
Last August, Mr. Cooper designed and constructed our library built-in and our words cannot describe how satisfied we are with his work. Initially, we had consulted with two other carpenters but they were not as detailed-oriented as Terry. We gave all the carpenters a general idea of what we wanted but Terry was the only one who took time to give his expertise. He expanded our vision with his creativity, making the built-in not just beautiful but practical as well. His hand detailed design on paper blew us away with multiple views that gave us the confidence he had the experience and the ability to deliver what we wanted.
Furthermore, he provided pictures of his previous jobs that spurred additional ideas and allowed us to see his work first hand. We were also pleased with how he was able to blend our built-in with the existing crown molding as though it was part of the room from the time we had moved into the house.
We were also pleased that Mr. Cooper completed our built-in within the time frame that was stated in our contract. We liked the fact that he works on one project at a time. He came to our house on time and made sure the room was cleaned up before he left our house. Definitely, he will not disappoint you.
We would gladly refer him to our friends and those who are seeking high quality workmanship. The only regret we made was not using the painter that he had recommended. What a hard lesson We learned: If you like the work, use the painter the carpenter recommends! (even if the cost is higher)

Terry Cooper did an amazing job refacing our old laminate kitchen cabinets from the late 1980s. We wanted a painted look, and very few refacing companies were willing to even consider the project. Terry handled it easily. After a year of heavy use, Terry's job still looks like new. We saved $5,000 compared to buying new painted cabinets.
Terry is an old-fashioned craftsman. He took his time measuring very carefully, and took his time installing the new drawer and cabinet fronts, as well as the detailing all around. He spent an extra two days on my job compared to what he expected, and all that extra time went into him getting every detail just right.
When it turned out my new refrigerator was an inch wider than what I first told him, Terry took the initiative to find a way to adjust the design and fix the problem. It made a few hours of extra work for him, but he did not change his price, and he saved me from having to return a refrigerator. That is just one of many examples of his care and craftsmanship. He really takes pride in his work.
Also, when Terry was done there was one mistaken drill hole inside a cabinet where no one could see. Terry ordered a new door front, and then came back and put in the new one. lt would have been perfectly V acceptable for him to not have done any of that, but that is just not how Terry works. We hope to have him come back for some built-ins in the next year or so.

Terry, I would like to thank you for all the excellent work you have done in our house. The built-in bookcase & a television cabinet is a great addition to our family room. The built—in wet bar is great and is shown on your web site. The refinished kitchen is beautiful and we love the cherry wood. It is also featured on your web site! Lastly you have just refinished our laundry room with new cabinets and a new layout for the washer & dryer which makes it a more efficient space with lots of storage.

Terry built custom bookcases and cabinets , a window seat, and refaced our kitchen cabinets. We cannot say enough good things about the work Terry did for us. His cabinetry skills are top notch. He is a genuine, highly skilled craftsman, and we are so lucky to have found him. Terry did a wonderful job listening to our needs, and creating a design for the bookcases and cabinets we loved. When we had some changes to the design, he was happy to make the design changes. Once we signed off on the design, we waited for our bookcases cabinets to be built. When we saw them for the first time, we were so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. Our bookcases and cabinets were exactly as envisioned and ordered. Everyone who comes to our home is so impressed with the work Terry did for us. We also loved working with Terry. He is such a wonderful person. - I have no regrets about contacting Terry for the home office we wanted to build! He was prompt to respond to my inquiry and scheduled an in-house visit within a week. He was very reception to what our ideas on the space were, offered some suggestions and put together a detailed draft within a couple weeks. Once we agreed on all the final details, he began work on the space and did a great job. He was able to rewire and create new outlets as needed, and did a seamless job incorporating the crown molding into our built-in. It looks like the bookcases were part of the house from original build. From start to finish the process was a couple months and I could not be happier with the final result. - My wife and I began our Reston condo kitchen renovation some 5 months ago. Very early in the process we contacted Terry and he graciously gave us novices advice as to the stages and sequence to follow. When we finally took care of all other aspects, Terry arrived to tackle the cabinet refacing. He was supremely organized, punctual, respectful, and enjoyable to be around. His work was meticulous indeed and he even fixed several lingering issues pertaining to both inside and outside of our cabinets. He arrived promptly at 8 each morning and worked in stages to complete the project. He is truly a master craftsman who sought to minimize disruption in our shared space. He maintained good humor and kindness throughout and was most considerate of our time parameters. He was not satisfied until he felt that his work was perfect. With all the workers who have worked on our renovation, including "the night crew" (my wife and I), Terry was the #1 contractor we employed. - I am writing this review from the comfort of our new custom built-in cabinets and workspace. These custom built-in cabinets and workspace make me feel like I'm a VIP at a posh hotel, and everyone who has seen them is taken aback by the look, fit, and finish. The cabinets and workspace transformed a sitting room from one that lay essentially dormant for a decade to a functional and beautiful room that we use every day. That's a significant boost to our home's intrinsic value for us. If you are looking for high quality woodwork at a fair price, look no farther than Terry's Custom Woodworks. - Terry designed and built a custom desk, bookshelves and file cabinets in our home office. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. At our first meeting, he listened closely to our ideas. His design included all our requirements and improvements we never would have considered. We chose cherry wood (an additional cost) and his care with the materials was evident. - Terry recently completed a job refacing our 1984 real wood kitchen cabinets and building a custom pantry and cabinetry to accommodate a new appliance in our home. His craftsmanship is outstanding and his communication before and while on the job was superb. Terry offered fantastic suggestions to help us maximize the space, and we knew what to expect and when, and he worked with us explaining his design approach. Our kitchen functions in a much more efficient way, and we love the new, updated look. The doors and materials are top-notch, and the little extras he knew to put in to accommodate our modern family into our 1964 home were outstanding. We highly recommend Terry. Bonus - How we were fortunate enough to get a native Louisianan to be part of our household for the week over Mardi Gras is a special kind of luck. His personality and kindness is infectious, even with our curious cats inspecting his work at every turn. - Terry is a master! He designed, created and installed our custom desk and double bookshelf cabinets. They look amazing and are built with amazing attention to detail. - Terry work with us to design and build custom cabinets for our pantry. He delivered a quality product that we are extremely happy with. We would work with Terry again on another product in a heartbeat. We have recently worked with a large contractor on a fully remodeled kitchen and experience multiple pain points. In 2014 he replaced our entry-way pocket door closet with a beautiful and much more functional built in cabinet, closet and storage unit with sitting area. - Terry was recommended by our interior decorator. He is very professional, creative, punctual and easy to work with. He provided a detail sketch so we knew exactly what we were getting. I loved how he made suggestions that added to the project but also worked with what I wanted. He built the cabinet at his workshop then installed it in our house so the distribution in our house was minimal. He exceeded our expectations. He, also, checked in a few months after the project to make sure we still loved the cabinet and we do. Terry is a true craftsman that takes pride in his work.
